B. While doing the will of God you will face heartache, but it does not mean that God is against you.

A. We should not live in fear of those that can take our lives but our

As believers if we are right with God there is no fear!

30. It Takes More Than Doing
Questions:
A. Not everyone who claims to be a follower of Jesus will make it into heaven!
B. Who will make it according to verse 21?
C. What is the will of the Father?
D. Did the people of verse 22 “Do” anything?
E. Did their “doing” qualify them for heaven?Discuss:
The answer to why they did not qualify is found in verse 23.
They were “doing” but they did not “know” Jesus.

29. The Secret of Possessing

A. What was the prerequisite to being made strong and possessing the land? (Read verse 8)
B. The land that God gave was not like Egypt. Egypt’s land required human effort and ingenuity. (Read

C. But the land of promise was dependent upon the rain from heaven. Gods’ eyes were always upon it.

27. Landmarks for Living
Questions:
A. Jacob and his family were in a time of crisis. What did God instruct Jacob to do? (Verse 1)
B. After hearing the voice of God, what instruction did Jacob give to his family? (Verse 2)
C. Notice that Jacob buried some things at Shechem. (Verse 4)
D. Are there things in our lives that need to be buried?Discuss:
Verses 7 and 13 reveal that Jacob built an altar and God met him there. Notice in verses 14 and 15, Jacob made a landmark out of this place where he had met with God. Are there landmarks in your life where you have experienced the presence of God?

The Jewish hope was for a king. God’s covenant plan was that he would be king over the nations.

The disciples did not understand, verse 8 was to be the kingdom at work before the final completion.This is the “Already not yet”. The kingdom is here but there is more to come.

There are different paths, but the path of the righteous is known/recognized by God (verse 6). Notice the arrangement in verse 1: Walking- Ungodly counsel, Standing- Way of sinners, Sitting- Place of scorning. It is a progression of decline.
